End of another year!!

Wow 2011 went by way too fast!! 2011 was a pretty great year for me, I met the most amazing Guy I have ever met. Rex makes me completely happy!! With him I am all smiles all the time. He has my heart!!

Mother's Day 2010

As I reflect on this mother's day, I can't help but think about those girls that no longer have their mother's and those mother's who no longer have their daughters. I can't help but think about all my childhood memories of my mom, my sister and myself, and I remember waking up on Saturday mornings to the smell of pancakes and I know that those will be the days that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Back in February my mom lost one of her dearest friends and on this mother's day I thought about her children, Katie(15) and Jake(9) this was there first mother's day without their amazing wonderful mother Patricia. They used to be our neighbors and have always been a big part of our lives. So the day of her funeral i told myself that i was going to spend more time with my mother and tell her I Love You everyday and that I would always give her a hug and kiss before and left the house and before I went to bed and it's not like doing that would come stranger to us because we never do that, but we actaully do that every single day. On Saturday, May 8, 2010 my mother and I attended a mother/daughter tea party at church and one of the speakers lost her daughter 2 years ago in a horrible train accident and one thing she said really stuck in my head, "Tomorrow is not promised." What I got from that was to spend and cherish as time with your mother and mother figures because one day they'll be there and the next the may not and you'll wish that you would have spent more time with them. As an end note, I hope all the mother's in the world had a wonderful mother's day.

It's been a while!!

Hey guys i know it's been a while since i've written. Everything's going great...both mom and dad keeping busy with work, well so is Megan!! Megan loves working at the Aquarium...i think she plays more than she works, but hey along as she's not getting in trouble then i guess it's ok!! As for me, i've been taking it easy this summer, been chilling here at the house. Megan and I both had another great semester, passed all of classes and is looking forward to the upcoming semester!! Hope everyone has a great summer!!

The Holidays!!

As the holidays grow near, I find myself not being excited about the holidays. I've had alot of ups and downs this year and it all started last holiday season. I'm not going to get into on here, but i'm just saying that I have had alot of ups and downs...however over time life has seemed to get better. It's just a shame that it had to be around the same time everything began!! I am however very excited about Thanksgiving...I can't wait to eat some yummy yummy TURKEY!! woohoo I guess it's just Christmas that I'm not too excited about. We usually spend Christmas Eve and Christmas with my mom's cousins, but now both of them are living in Dallas. I've been wanting to go to Dallas for Christmas since July...I miss them so much!! We went from seeing them everyday to relying on e-mails and phone calls and it sucks because I'm used to them only being a few minutes away and now their miles and miles away. :-( Anyway hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!!

Preparing for Ike

As hurricane Ike heads towards the Texas coast line, people are starting to get more prepared by boarding up their windows, making sure their cars have full tanks of gas in case we have to evacuate. I mean as of right now The Weather Channel is saying that it's a category 1 hurricane, but as it moves more into the Gulf that it can grow and when it hit the Texas coast line it's going to be a category 3 or 4 hurricane. Although my parents are getting concerned...ok, mostly my mom!! I still have trouble believing that it's really headed our way. Look back at I think it was a couple of years ago, with Rita if i'm correct my family made all kinds of preparations and nothing happened and I think that's why i'm having trouble believing The Weather Channel or what everyone else is telling me. I just keep telling everyone that, "I'll believe it when I see it." They keep calling me crazy and my mom thinks i'm out of my mind for not believing!!

A New Semester!!

Well summer is officially over and now i'm headed back to school for another semester. I really hope that this semester goes just as great as the last one...afterall school isn't only about classes and homework, but also about friends!! Every semester i seem to meet a whole lot of new people, who turn out to be some really cool people to be around!! For example, Megan and i sit with about 15-20 people at a time...who would have ever though that i, Monique Gonzales would actaully have that many people who enjoy each others company!! I love school and the people I get to meet. Well that's all for now...i have to get back to doing homework!!
